German giants Bayern Munich booked their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League with an emphatic 6-1 win over FC Porto at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
Trailing 3-1 after the first leg, the Bavarians mounted a sensational comeback as Thiago Alcantara, Jerome Boateng, Robert Lewandowski, Tomas Muller and Xabi Alonso each struck to hand their side a convincing 7-4 aggregate win.
Elsewhere, Barcelona also progressed after outclassing Paris Saint Germain 2-0 at the Camp Nou.
Luis Enrique’s men, who had edged out the French Champions 3-1 in Paris, dominated possession and never looked in any real trouble as Brazilian international Neymar scored a brace of goals in the first-half to secure the win.
