Louis van Gaal ‘fined 10 United players for being late to lunch’

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has revealed that Louis van Gaal has hit his players with heavy fines for being just one minute late for lunch.

Fellaini explained how Van Gaal, who is clearly a stickler for time management, lost his temper with a big group of United players after they were fractionally late to arrive at the canteen.

The Belgian, who has excelled for United this season under Van Gaal, revealed exactly what happened as the group received heavy fines for their ill-discipline.

“He blew a fuse the other day when a group of 10 of us were one minute late for lunch after training,” Fellaini told the Daily Mirror.

“You think one minute is nothing and it wasn’t for training, but for the canteen. For him it’s important though.

“He dished out a few fines. That’s what happens to late-comers and even for a red card. You get fined, too, for a bad foul”.

Van Gaal eyes more new signings

Fellaini went on to talk about how the squad is taking shape under Van Gaal and how the Dutchman is enforcing his methods.

“We’ve worked with him for months and are getting to know him,” said Fellaini.

“His thing is circulating the ball and pressing the opponent. Everything is repetition with him.

“We do practically the same exercises each week. Next season we will be a machine. At the moment, we are running it in.

“There is intensity and people get stuck in. Players limp about, but there is never a foul. There is no referee.”
